Kent J. Utley, P.E.

Area of Expertise

Mr. Utley has extensive experience in the construction industry. He has been actively involved in the engineering and construction businesses since 1968. His primary responsibility is the inspection and evaluation of residences and commercial buildings.

Qualifications

Kent is a registered Professional Engineer in the States of Nevada and Utah, with more than 27 years experience, and a Nevada certified Residential Inspector of Structures. His background includes extensive experience as a design engineer and field construction engineer. He has been an owner of a custom home construction firm, and also has experience in the construction of large condominium and apartment complexes.

Kent is familiar with all phases of construction, having worked closely with architects, contractors, and local building officials in his practice for many years. His experience includes work on highly technical industrial buildings, multi-story commercial and residential buildings, and single-family residences. His design and construction experience includes wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structures.

Education

Mr. Utley was reared in Utah, and attended the College of Southern Utah and Utah State University. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Utah State University in 1968. Since graduation he has lived in Idaho, Utah, Alaska, and Nevada, and has resided in the Las Vegas area since 1986. Kent has attended numerous continuing education courses throughout his career, including the Criterium Inspection Training Course for Professional Engineers in Portland, Maine.
