Ray K. Thom, P.E.

Area of Expertise

Mr. Thom has extensive experience in the construction industry. He has been actively involved in the engineering and construction businesses since 1989. His primary responsibility is the design, inspection, and maintenance of industrial, commercial, and residential buildings.

Qualifications

Ray is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada, and a Nevada certified Residential Inspector of Structures. His engineering background includes extensive experience in the remodel and maintenance of various, multi-functional facilities, along with the design and inspection of new facilities. He is a home owner and is currently developing land for a small residential housing development.

Ray is familiar with all phases of construction, having worked closely with architects, contractors, and various construction subcontractors. While much of his experience centers around multi-story, highly specialized government facilities, he has also designed and supervised the construction of residential and light commercial building. His design experience included wood, steel, and concrete structure.

Education

Mr. Thom was born in southern California, and raised in northern Nevada. He attended the University of Nevada, Reno, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering in 1989. Upon receiving his degree, Ray has lived and worked throughout the Las Vegas area. He has attended numerous continuing education courses throughout his career, including the Criterium Inspection Training Course for Professional Engineers in Portland, Maine.
